WASHINGTON, DC – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today released a new radio ad entitled “Censure” highlighting Sen. Feingold’s attempt to censure the President for ensuring that the United States is monitoring terrorist communications. “Censure” will begin airing tomorrow in Wisconsin radio markets and is available at www.GOP.com. Republican National Committee
“Censure”60 Second Radio AUDIO
Voice Over: September eleventh changed our country.
And it changed how America responds to terrorists.
President Bush is working to keep American families safe.
Passing the PATRIOT Act which has disrupted over one hundred and fifty terrorist threats and cells making sure the US is monitoring terrorist communications.
But some Democrats are working against these efforts to secure our country, opposing the PATRIOT Act and terrorist surveillance program.
Their leader is Russ Feingold. Now Feingold and other Democrats want to censure the President. Publicly reprimanding President Bush for pursuing suspected members of al Qaeda. Some Democrats are even calling for President Bush’s impeachment. Is this how Democrats plan to win the War on Terror?
Call Russ Feingold and ask him why he’s more interested in censuring the President than protecting our freedom. Paid for by the Republican National Committee not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee http://www.gop.com/.

Nonpartisan, Independent Group: RNC Radio Ad Not True; Wineke: Latest GOP Attack Just Another Attempt to Distract Attention from President Bush's Failed Policies, Plummeting Popularity

MADISON - Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Joe Wineke released the following statement today regarding a false radio advertisement by the Republican National Committee that attacks Senator Russ Feingold for his efforts to hold President Bush accountable for the illegal wiretapping of American citizens:

"It is disgraceful that Republicans would resort to cheap personal attacks on a true American patriot like Russ Feingold in order to cover up President Bush's failures. This smear campaign is just another desperate attempt by Republicans to distract attention from the President's plummeting popularity and his failed policies on everything from illegal wiretapping to the war in Iraq."

Now the GOP is bringing RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman and his smear machine to Wisconsin tomorrow to raise campaign cash for Republicans like Mark Green, who have been rubberstamps for the failed policies of the Bush Administration. The people of Wisconsin are increasingly rejecting President Bush and Republicans in Washington, and they will reject these smear attacks as well.

"These attacks are false, they are disgraceful, and Republicans should be ashamed for attacking Senator Feingold for trying to hold the President accountable for his misconduct and his failures."

A new analysis released yesterday by the nonpartisan, independent group FactCheck.org highlights the inaccuracies and misinformation contained within the RNC ad. To view that analysis: http://www.factcheck.org/article381.html.- 30 -

One more reason to despise the RNC. I'm Independent, and am not a fan other either party, but I admire Senator Feingold very much. I wonder why they didn't mention Feingold was the only Dem to vote to move forward with proceedings against Clinton. He doesn't care about partisan politics. He cares about what is right.

If you want Senator Feingold to run for President in 2008, please, come over to http://russfeingoldpetition.blogspot.com/ and sign the petition.

Thanks for your time, and have a great weekend.
