What's this Blog About?

Politics in Wisconsin as they roll up to every level... and some other thoughts that may cross my mind are explored here from my lefty point of view. My values shape my opinions. You'll always find them in here. Let's have some fun exploring why Liberal values are American values!

Vote Like a Life Depends on it! Millions do...

This is a friendly reminder to all of you to get out and vote tomorrow. Those of you in Shorewood and Whitefish Bay have what amounts to the first public opinion poll on the Iraq War since 2004. A lot has happened since then in Iraq and most of it is not good.

For example, we have learned that we were deliberately lied to by Pres. Bush in the first place; 1,000+ more soldiers and 10,000's of Iraqi's have died; Iraqis have elected a theocracy; by nearly all accounts Iraq is and has been in the middle of a civil war for months, can't agree on anything, is fighting over the oil and there is nothing we Americans can do about it except make them more angry that we are in the middle of it all.

It's time we as communities make a call to our elected leaders to hold the Bush Administration accountable for it's disasterous Iraq policy. Vote Yes in Shorewood and Whitefish Bay for Accountability in Iraq, a timeline and a target date of 12/06 to begin bringing our troops home. With over 70% of the troops in Iraq stating that they believe it's time to begin to withdraw, is there any better way to support the troops than to give them a gameplan, with goals and targets so they have a light at the end of the tunnel?

A Yes vote is a vote for:

  • Accountability
  • Support of our troops
  • True Iraqi independence

The ENTIRE WORLD is watching our two small humble communities and the others around the state who have had the integrity and drive to make our voices heard loud and clear.

It is CRITICAL that you vote tomorrow! High turnout alone will make National news!!

Thanks to all the great people out there who have worked so hard (standing in the cold to collect signatures, door to door canvases, donations for lawn signs, etc...) over the last six months to bring tomorrow's election front and center in the National consciousness.

Special thanks to Keith Schmitz who's organization skills and committment to the power of grassroots activism are awe-inspiring! When Keith & I met on a grassroots trip to Iowa and decided to "put our lists together into a Yahoo Group", little did I know the incredible machine that would come of it, largely because of Keith's committment. Grassroots Northshore is now over 1,500 Progressive activists strong on Milwaukee's largely upper-middle class Suburban Northshore and is an inspiration for all American's who believe in our hearts that we can take back our country! This is what Democracy looks like!
