Nagin Was Right

"You guys in New York can't get a hole in the ground fixed and it's five years later. So let's be fair."

In fact...he was more right than any of us knew. A few short months ago, Ray Nagin was castigated for making this statement. He was right. Not only was he correct in pointing out that after 5 years the Republican Governor, Republican Mayor and Republican POTUS had still not begun construction to rebuild the site of the 911 horrors, but it was worse than that.

They have now found remains of bodies that millions of tourists walked over in the last five years as Keith Olbermann put it "in a manhole" at the site. Keith was much more eloquent than I on this his special comment earlier this week ("You Tube" it on "The Google"- oh yeah same thing now).

As I went through a Republican blogger's site tonight, his list of the bad guys quotes (actually quite an impressive list of about 55 "Bush Bashers" and more than I even knew about, he really should take it down since it's pretty clear to me that it's not helping his case) included the one above and it hit me.

The shame of this Bush Administration is so deep and horrifying that it is beginning to really seem like a horror movie.

We have raging war of choice with no end in sight and Americans dying daily with the numbers now more than died on 911, a government that has been overthrown by the people elected to protect it, Orwellian rhetoric that makes you want to throw 1984 at the TV screen, the death penalty on the ballot in Wisconsin-a state that has been a life in prison state for 153 years, racism used as a very public campaign strategy, a pedophile Congressman preying on our children under our noses and the Speaker of the House covering it up because he was a good fundraiser for "the Party", a severely ill man stating his case for a potential cure to the public only to be mocked and berated by a raving maniac talk show host whose oxy addiction rages only endear him more to his lunatic fans, and now the bones of our martyrs (not Bush's-he left them to rot under the street-our martyrs), truly the only ones innocent in this entire ugly mess, scattered beneath the filthy streets on New York City five years after their loved ones were assured that nothing remained of them.

I stood at Ground Zero and saw the rubble a year ago, and thought it a disgrace on our country that 4 years later it was still a pile of rubble. I had no idea that the people who had died there were still crying from their graves that lay beneath my feet for someone to find them.

For years now, I have seen the disgusting lack of real concern for the American people from these neo-con, money whores. If it doesn't directly put money in their pockets (think Cheney's "blind" Haliburton stock and deferred compensation package he still collects on, and Bush's daddy's war machine waiting for a war in 2000), they lie and deceive to hopefully lull us to forget it.

I never had any idea I was as right on as I was when I imagined how horrible a Bush Administration would be for this country. All the things I said to Conservative friends years ago were never imagined to be as bad as the truth these guys were able to dish out on us in just 5 and a half short and now incredibly long years.

If accountability is not mandated in this election by the American public, I dread the next years in this country... We MUST vote. We MUST vote against the animals who got us into this mess and who keep digging the holes deeper.

And we MUST vote in HUGE numbers to remove any possibility of them stealing the election in ANY district. Do NOT sit this one out. It very well may be more important than any election in American history. The direction they are headed, it may be the LAST election in American history.

Let us not overlook one of the most outrageous Sensenbrenner behaviors of late. His snubbing of visitors is nothing compared to how he treated fellow congress members albeit of the other party during the fraudulent patriot act renewal hearings of which he was chairman. I just recently read of it but every American should know of it. He put off the request by the Democrats for hearing time saying “in the future.” Then late one night said, ”your up tomorrow morning.” The Dems. rushed about and got their witnesses lined up. After a short time in the morning he got bored and tried to gavel the meeting to an end. The Democrats protested saying they had more to offer. Sensenbrenner then got up, turned off the lights and microphones and walked out closing the door leaving the other congress persons and witnesses in the dark. That is rude and arrogant beyond belief. Anyone that would vote for that kind of behavior does not believe in America, democracy or just government.
