Sun Has Set on The Winter Solstice

I always find this day both the saddest and the happiest of the year. I enjoy the sun. I have always known that I was a warm weather soul and although I can tolerate the cold, it takes a lot of blankets at night.

I guess I'm sad, because it's just a dark cold day in general. Summer and Fall are officially gone and the short day is a stark reminder of that fact.

Oddly enough I'm also really happy today, because I know that tomorrow the daylight will stay just a bit longer. The creaping darkness has ceased and light will cover us again.

Enjoy your long evening lighting candles with your family, wrapping presents, putting the last decorations on the tree or making cookies.

Tomorrow will be a better (and longer) day!!!

Nice post! Winter Solstice is the original "Reason for the Season." Greetings!
