The House to the Rescue!

A major victory for the fourth amendment went down hard core yesterday!

The House let the FISA bill with telecom immunity die. It won't be back anytime soon. As of this weekend it will be over. Keith Olbermann's Special Comment from last night for the full rundown... He was awesome!

There have been times in the last 8 years that I thought I was either insane or everyone else around me was completely blind to the reality. In those times people like Keith and Jon and Stephen and Molly (rest her soul) and Arianna and the others who have pulled me through with their courage to say what I think. I'd really like to say thank you to all of these American heroes who began to speak out when it wasn't popular. Who called it like it was when it served them no purpose but to tell the truth and clear their conscious.

Last night Keith called Bush a fascist. He is. I could give you a million reasons, but when a leader spies on his people and is more concerned with protecting the corporations over the safety and freedom of his citizens, he is a fascist.

I have said this before on this blog. Keith said it last night.

God bless the first amendment!!!! I have a friend who said to me once that "The first amendment is all powerful. If it was eliminated our country would immediately cease to exist and all other amendments would fall away. If however all the other amendments were eliminated and the first amendment was maintained, the other would be built again by the people."

Have a drink tonight and toast the first amendment! Because of it you can!
