McCain's Choice Starts Out with a Discussion of Abuse of Power...

Here we go again...

Can't the GOP find anyone in this country who has not or is not currently being investigated for a crime???

My goodness, she's only been the nominee for about 6 hours and she's already got a scandal for abuse of power??? 6 hours into the first day of the choice, they have the word "impeachment" on the bottom of the screen...

This had to be the most laughable choice for VP in history.

Hmmm... This is the bio I've heard so far...
  1. Beauty queen (this could be considered unfair to start out with, but it's all I've heard all day). This is a cheap shot...period and I'm almost ashamed of it, but it's still cracking me up... but I find it hilarious that she didn't win Ms. Alaska in the least populated state in the country that's only claim to fame in the lower 48 beside oil is that there are no women up there...
  2. Governor for less than 2 years of a state with a smaller population that most medium to small cities in the world and mayor of a town of a few 1000 rumored to have the "best pot in Alaska".
  3. She's tried pot when it was legal, but didn't like it... where have I heard that before...
  4. She's rabidly anti-choice and calls herself pro-life, but did something I'll mention below that I find really odd... and potentially sad...
  5. She has 5 children. The youngest has downs syndrome. This isn't bad except that in having the 4 month old, she did something I cannot for the life of me figure out... She was pregnant and in Texas and her water broke just before her TX speech. Now when your water breaks, it becomes a life or death situation to be in a position to get medical care if necessary and in particular to deliver the baby as soon as possible because if you don't, the baby will die in as little as a few hours but could last up to a day. This next part of the story floors me. She didn't cancel her speech, she delivered the speech instead of the child. Instead of going to a hospital after the speech, she went to the airport, got into an airplane and flew all the way to Alaska.... from TX... 11+ HOURS! This is a child they knew was high risk as having downs and they didn't go to a hospital??? To me as a mother who has had 3 children this last act is the most odd and reckless thing I have ever heard a pregnant woman do in my entire life! And they want us to entrust her with the well-being of the entire world!!! She was only 36 weeks pregnant when she went into labor. This delivery of a child that is as high risk as it can be with a child who's syndrome level is not yet assessed and is 4 weeks early and she decides to get on an airplane for over 11 hours??? I'm confused... This is spun in the news as a "heroic" moment in her life showing how tough she is... I have other thoughts I will not articulate here (and that make me so sad to even consider), but that make me wonder... Thankfully little Trig is just fine.
  6. She's under investigation for abuse of power that could lead to impeachment before the November election.
  7. She's as anti-women's rights as women come...
  8. She believes Creationism should be taught in public schools...
  9. She doesn't believe in global warming with the glaciers melting in her backyard.
  10. Chairman of the Oil and Gas Commission before being in local office.
  11. Her husband works for big oil.
  12. She's governor of a big oil state.
  13. Gergen just called this the biggest single gamble in political history...
  14. She's 44 and 3 years older than me...
I find this choice just dumbfounding and confusing and more indication that McCain is totally out of touch of America.
